The study was a meta-analyses of 31 studies. Essentially, a meta-analyses pools data from several or many single studies to try and form an overall analyses of existing research.
Acupuncture was found to be superior to medication for headache intensity, frequency, physical function and treatment response rate.
True acupuncture was found to out-perform sham acupuncture.
