What to eat?

What should we be eating?  There seems to be all sorts of confusion over what we should be eating.  Should we eat low-carb/high protein, high carb/low fat, mediterranean or asian?  One way to simplify this is to ask ourselves, 'Would my ancesters of 2,000 years ago have eaten this?'.  This one question can go a long way to help us avoid eating all sorts of things we shouldn't!
