Insomnia

Insomnia affects us all at some point in our lives, and can vary from occasional mild sleeplessness to a catastrophic inability to sleep night after night.  It may be that you can't get off to sleep for a couple of hours, your mind unproductively spinning around the day's events.  Or you may have the early waking around 4.00 in the morning, indicative of depression.

Insomnia leaves you tired the next day, and can lead to a vicious cycle of sleeplessness and fatigue.  Your immune system suffers leading you more open to illness, infections, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, etc.

I find some insomniacs respond remarkably well to acupuncture, whereas for others the condition proves resilient.  The research seems to mirror this with mixed results recorded.  Follow the link below for a summary of some of the research in this area:
