Insomnia.
Insomnia is the condition of not being able to sleep. Acupuncture theory describes many different energetic imbalances which can result in insomnia. Possible syndromes are Heart Blood Deficiency, Heart & Kidney Yin Deficiency, Empty Heat Harassing the Mind, and so on. We need sleep for its restorative powers, both physically and mentally. The body carries out many healing and maintenance processes while we sleep. Not only do we feel tired after a sleepless night, but long term lack of sleep will predispose us to illness.
